CAMEO
Professional Auxiliary
of Assistance League of Long Beach

Organized October 11, 1986
Certified October 15, 1987

CAMEO has a history of more than twenty years of mentoring academically talented students from Long Beach high schools and community college.

Our members provide one-on-one mentoring support to enhance each student’s educational and personal development. A comprehensive curriculum, which includes career-oriented workshops and cultural activities, paid summer internships with local business partners, and financial aid for educational scholarships, computer equipment and school supplies, complements our mentoring outreach.

Financial support for CAMEO’s philanthropic program comes overwhelmingly from the community. CAMEO’s annual budget is funded primarily through one event, a springtime auction and fashion show extravaganza. Our special event this year is scheduled for March 3, 2012 at the Long Beach Convention Center.

Because we are a professional group of working women, our regular meetings and mentor activities are conducted monthly on Saturday mornings or weekday evenings at the Assistance League of Long Beach Philanthropic Center. Any woman who is employed and has a desire to support the youth of Long Beach through mentoring is welcome to join us.

Please contact the Assistance League® of Long Beach at (562) 627-5650 for further information about membership in CAMEO or for tickets to the Fashion Show.
